▷ First Impressions ▶ VISUAL: -> TAKE A LOOK AT ME Visually, Asch isn't immediately obviously different from a human; he's got a fairly normal physical build (small but sturdy, topping at a a whole 5'7/171cm), with bright red, long hair (though he is less religious about wearing it in the same all-down rooster-bangs style than his canon counterpart), with blue-green eyes and a fairly sharp nose. His eyebrows give him the impression of a constant scowl even when he's relaxed, and he's not exceptionally expressive (especially of positive emotions). He looks like a young adult, in a way that's hard to exactly quantify exactly - it's hard to match an exact age to even child-shaped blades, and a child he is not. Unlike some blades who have features that overtly link them to their elements (hair that's constantly a little on fire or a wind blade that constantly floats), in his usual clothing Asch can pass for completely human, at a glance. Only, however, because of the way he usually dresses, in dark clothes from just under his chin on down. Even his hands are covered, in black leather gloves, and the usual majority of his clothes are either also black or a very dark grey, making the color of his hair downright alarming by contrast. They're casual clothes, loose but not too loose, the style a little temporally out of step (jeans and tunics were not meant to be combined in such a way) but the fabrics soft and thick. Because underneath are his ether lines, and the whole point is to keep the bright glow of them from being obvious to an external viewer. Not so much because Asch is actively hiding that he's a blade, but more because he's hiding exactly what kind of blade he is. Aegisites are horrifying fusions of seven blades; accordingly, where a normal blade has a single ether color and a harmonious design, usually evocative of their element. (For example, Jade as an ice blade has hexagonal designs; a fire blade might have a pattern of swirls that look like flames, an earth blade a series of cracks, and so on.) Asch's ether lines are a crazy quilt chaotic mash of the shapes of the blades used to produce him, and the color, while overall "red," shimmers between distinct microshades ranging from a near-orange to almost pink. Asch's core crystal is also atypical (though one would need familiarity with ywkon blades specifically to know this). In contrast to the squares of normal blades, Asch's looks like a square standing on its point like a diamond, but with the upper corner cut off. The location of his core crystal - in his chest in line with where his sternum would be, a bit higher than a human heart - is typical, and his ether lines flow from there. The same shimmering sort of glow comes from his core crystal as his ether lines. Basically: Young adult male, humanlike, with intensely red hair and bluegreen eyes. Prefers to dress covered up. Weird glowy tattoo patterns in shimmering red from the neck down, in erratic patterns centered on a hunk of crystal embedded in his chest. ▶ AURAL: So canonically Asch is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal. However I've never vibed with that performance absolutely and I vibe with his JP VA even less, so like... Midrange masculine, the kind of voice that has a full body and can carry across rooms if he wants it to, but generally low-volume. Soft or rough by moods. Basically the masculine version of those anime BGMs that's "one lady singing with minimal instrumental backing during melancholy character-is-reflecting-on-their-backstory scenes." ▶ DEMEANOUR: stuff

▷ IC Permissions ▶ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Asch will probably sense it coming and avoid it - unless he's close with someone, he's not really much into touching. ▶ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Generally not opposed, but talk to me beforehand! Being a blade, Asch recovers from injury far faster than a human would, and he can heal himself on top of that, but. ▶ RELATIONSHIPS: Ha ha haaaaaa. I mean, if it vibes right I won't say no, but. ▶ PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Mostly normal for a humanlike mind of his physical age, though particularly close inspection might reveal that at the nitty-gritty details level that's more "a computer that can make organic decisions" than something with organic thinking. You'd have to look at the psychic equivalent of the cellular level to find it unless Bad Shit is happening, though. Related to that, Asch is technically only half of the system, with the link to the other half inactive. The other things of note: If he's in resonance, there's an empathetic link to whoever his driver is, worked in pretty deep to his psyche. And his hyperintuition (see bottom) can nudge his thoughts in weird directions in ways Asch himself isn't consciously aware of. ▶ MAGICAL INFORMATION: Heavily elemental, with a wild mixture of elements, and definitely on the more powerful side. Anything in general blade info you're also welcome to take, but he does his best to keep his hyperintuition on the downlow. ▶ MEDICAL INFORMATION:That's not a human, that's a magical energy construct around a magical crystal processor. Medical anything probably gets an [error]. ▶ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Treating people like tools (this is pretty universal across blades); any indication that his memory might have been messed with; older men with light-element aspected leanings, especially flesh eaters; being in resonance for a significant time period with anyone outside of a handful of people. Threatening his family/important people is likely to be a 'violent protective reaction' trigger, going double for his brother, because blades are not rational about these things. Also, while not exactly a trigger, Asch is extremely anxious about letting people see his bare skin and core crystal. FOR YOUR CHARACRERS: Abusive relationships (no 1:1 to actual human relationships but Bad), amnesia issues, scientific experiments on thinking beings (not human experimentation but only bc they're not human), big 'fish out of water lost for direction" vibes.

▷ OOC Permissions ▶ BACKTAGGING: I generally stop tagging slow threads at about the two month point; I have no objection to continuing to tag, it's just that it's sometimes harder for me to rewind the headspace, so to speak. ▶ THREADHOPPING: Go wild. ▶ FOURTHWALLING: I don't have anything against it, but please ask first! ▶ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Player is transmasc and triggered by anything more detailed than a general mention of pregnancy. Parasitic worms are also a nope, as is any kind of visual gore (described is usually fine unless super explicit about organs). ▶ ANYTHING ELSE? You are 100% cleared to use different colors and fonts around me, but please don't make text super small! ▶ PERMISSIONS FOR YOU Asch has 'hyperintuition' - it's not quite knowing the future (or the past), so much as it is that wild guesses have a much higher than average chance of being correct. This doesn't mean always correct - like anyone else, Asch can second-guess and talk himself out of that initial feeling, and since the technical way it works isn't quite in sync with the train, sometimes it won't work at all. It's somewhere between super effective 'normal' methods of prediction and genuine precognition, and extremely useful for picking out of coin flips and other seemingly-meaningless-choice scenarios. It's significantly les useful for one-off comments that tend to strike too close to home without Asch intending them to mean anything - as much as he doesn't intend to do it, that happens a lot. Or, in other words... Anyway, he can also sense strong elemental leanings (only strong ones! think more has a weakness/resistance inherent rather than "can use spells") because blades are on a JRPG-like elemental system. There isn't much canonical information on the 'brau/blow demon' that makes up Zel's remaining third, besides that they are NOT actual demons, so I'll just say that whatever elemental affinity that grants, it's masked by residual spells making the golem bits work with squishy biology.

ELEMENTAL LEANINGS?: prrrrooooobbbbbably dark leaning, being a necromancer and all! But there's definitely some faint light as well because he does have his core back thanks to Mo Xuanyu's body possessing a faint core as well as having been working on strengthening said core. The Kitsune spirit also likely leans Dark, as well as Earth being connected to the farm shrine (Slumscape related, but they've got Earth alignments there)

POINTS OF INTEREST: Asch is 100% allowed to notice the faint dark & earth elements within her, and if he can sense souls, he can and would indeed pick up a faint secondary one within her and is allowed to talk to her about it in person. (it'll be sad shit but I'm oocly down for it)
ELEMENTAL LEANINGS?: Light/Holy, Fire, Wind, and Lightning. There's a Dark & Earth alignment that is VERY faint due to having a "shard" of another's soul fused to hers. (TL;DR she bound a dying person's soul to hers to revive that person, but that also means that person is eternally connected to the bird)

POINTS OF INTEREST: Given multiple hearts, Xehanort might fuck with Asch's intuition in the worst way. He could presumably easily get a bead on the active, aware part of Xehanort himself, and some of his more obvious issues, but there's always going to be this weird distorted echo.
ELEMENTAL LEANINGS?: Darkness~~!!! ..And also earth, but it's at about half the dark-bias. Weirdly he doesn't seem weak to Light, but there's absolutely a strong elemental favoring like he should absolutely be weak to light.
